Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Focussing on shysters - SVS, Frontera & the Woodford Empire

In today’s podcast I point fingers at who should be sent to jail or drummed out of the City as I look at new developments at former AIM Casino darling Frontera (FRR), the late lamented SVS Securities and at the crumbling empire of Neil Woodford and Woodford Patient Capital Trust (WPCT).

Updated # 2- SVS Securities shutting down

Updated: The rumour is SVS Securities is shutting for business. Is this the end for broker to esteemed enterprises such as Westminster Group (WSG) and Mosman Oil & Gas (MSMN) and another sign of how tough things are developing for brokers at the lower end of AIM? Certainly, calling the company has not seen anyone pick up the phone to us…er yes: all staff were asked to leave the building at 11 AM. Expect a forman announcement on Monday. So much for the FCA keeping investors informed…

TomCo – London’s broker of worst repute quits claiming association damages its reputation

SVS Securities did a bailout placing for the fraud MySquar (MYSQ) days before its downfall, knowing full well that the company was a wrong ‘un. That had to be reversed PDQ as it emerged that the ex CEO had half inched almost a million quid..  Suffice to say it will act for almost anyone and its reputation is of being a thoroughly low grade and morally bankrupt operation. So when it quits an account to protect its reputation you know that the company in question is toxic. Welcome to long time uber dog Tomco (TOM)

Shamed ex Tory MP Tony “Porker” Baldry of 3DM infamy passes Westminster hat around AGAIN to just keep lights on

When a good company meets the salary expectations of “porker Baldry” of 3DM infamy as its chairman it will inevitably become a cash guzzler. When a bad company finds the loathsome lard bucket at its helm the outcome is not going to be a happy one for shareholders. And that brings us to Westminster Group (WSG) which has raised a paltry £500,000 (gross) today via seedy low grade bucket shop SVS just to keep the lights on until Christmas.

Golden Saint Resources raises £400,000 to keep paying crony capitalists but where are its fecking results?

Last year Golden Saint Resources (GSR) waited until it got a placing away in late May to announce its piss poor results. It needed extra cash to satisfy the auditors that it was solvent, let alone a going concern. This year it seems that broker Cornhill could not bring itself to stiff its clients again - hats off to Frangos and team for showing some integrity. But bucket shop- SVS Securities has no such qualms and has raised £400,000 gross ( £371,000 net of fees to crony capitalists) at 0.07p. So I guess we can now see the results soon.
